Terms of Use
These terms apply to the “ClipBuffer: Clipboard History” macOS application and this website. By installing or using them you agree to these terms.
What the application does
The application keeps a history of what you copy to the macOS clipboard and lets you paste an earlier item with a shortcut. It stores the history on your computer and has no servers or accounts of its own.
Your responsibility for what you copy
The application keeps whatever you copy, including confidential data. Use it only on computers you are entitled to use, and in compliance with the law and with your employer’s rules. You are responsible for clearing the history when it holds data that should not stay there.
Permissions
To listen for your shortcut and paste into other apps, the direct download needs the macOS Accessibility permission. You grant it and can withdraw it in System Settings. The application does not use the network.
Licence
The application is free. Tikhon Ustinov grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use it on computers that you own or are entitled to use, for personal or internal business purposes. You may not reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble the application (except where the law allows it despite this restriction), sell, rent, sublicense or redistribute it, remove its notices, or use it to break the law. The application is not open source: its source code, name, logo and design remain the property of Tikhon Ustinov, and all rights not granted here are reserved. Your own data always stays yours.
Third-party components
The application is built with Apple system frameworks only and includes no third-party libraries. Apple’s own licences apply to those frameworks, not to the application as a whole.
No warranty
The application is provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. To the extent allowed by law, Tikhon Ustinov is not liable for lost data, lost time, lost profit or any indirect or other damage caused by using the application, and total liability is limited to the amount you paid for it (nothing). Nothing here limits liability that the law does not allow to be limited.
Mac App Store
If you got the application from the Mac App Store, Apple’s Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies to that copy. If it conflicts with these terms, the Apple agreement prevails for that copy. Apple is not responsible for support or warranty of the application.
Changes and termination
We may change these terms. The current version is always on this page. The licence ends automatically if you breach these terms; then you must stop using the application and delete your copies.
